In 2007 we began to dream about taking on the world of 5Ks. We knew it would be quite an endeavor and weren't
sure it would be successful given all the 5K races out there today. By the beginning of 2008 we were sure we wanted
to at least try. So we set a date for our inaugural event for May 17, 2008 and hit the pavement looking for sponsors.
After many months it all started to come together and we waited with anticipation during the weeks preceding the event.
We received more and more registrations and all of a sudden felt overwhelmed with the possibility that we may have tons more
runners than we ever expected. A few more hundred registered the day of the event for a total of 507 runners.
We were estastic. It was a beautiful day that turned to pouring rain around 1:00 p.m. ... luckily the race was already
over. It was a huge success.
We knew the minute it started that we would be doing it again the following
year. Last year's race brought over 700 runners out. A great turnout despite the chilly weather!

- To provide a nice family event that is pet friendly but professional.
- To raise awareness of the needs of homeless pets.
- To promote spay/neuter of pets.
- To raise money
to help support our goals.

We have a nice combination of things to offer anyone who comes out to our event. There is of course the scenic
route for the runners, the fabulous wine for the drinkers and then there are the dogs.
