In 2008 we organized
our Inaugural Hair of the Dog 5K in hopes of generating much needed funds to support our rescue. It was a great success
and we decided we wanted to do it every year. This event is unlike any other local event in that not only do we offer
a 5K Run/Walk but afterwards we give many local vendors and rescue groups the opportunity to showcase their products and available
pets at the Pet Expo. Because the event is held at a winery we are also able to offer wine tasting and wine by the glass/bottle.
Each registered runner receives a free wineglass which entitles them to their first wine tasting free. But wait that's
not all. Because this event is for the sole purposes of helping homeless, abandoned and neglected pets we also allow
you to run or walk with your dog. All pre-registered runners get a goody bag packed with all sorts of goodies.
Please join us for this event -- you won't regret it!
We look forward to meeting you at the race.
You do not have to register to race in order to come to the event. There is free admission to the Pet Expo and anyone
can come, watch the race, buy wine or beer (you must be at least 21 years of age ... no exceptions!),
and enjoy the scenery.
